Our refund and returns policy lasts 30 days for most items or 14 days for desktop and laptop computers, from date of purchase. Any special order or non-defective returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, which percentage is taken from the final purchase price less any shipping or handling charges. Refunds are at the sole discretion of Scott’s Computer Emporium.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging with the original invoice/receipt.

Software can not and will not be refunded, an exchange of unopened software is solely at the discretion of Scott’s Computer Emporium.

Additional non-returnable items:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products
  • Mouse Pads
  • Headphones or ear buds

To complete your return, we require the original invoice/receipt or proof of purchase.



Refunds are at the sole discretion of Scott’s Computer Emporium. Once your return is received and inspected, we will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within approximately 10 business days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at scott@computeremporium.ca.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items are final sale and cannot be refunded.


We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at scott@computeremporium.ca and bring your item to: Scott’s Computer Emporium located at 45 Dalkeith Drive, Unit #17, Brantford Ontario N3P1M1.


If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Scope Of Liability

Scott’s Computer Emporium holds no responsibility to any Act of God or unforeseen circumstances which causes destruction, damage, pain and suffering, endangerment, hindrance or emotional distress to any property, person or thing resulting from a service, product or interaction with Scott’s Computer Emporium.  Due to the nature of computers and electronics, any failures before, during, or after service will be seen as unrelated to any previous service work.  Scott’s Computer Emporium holds no responsibility for failure of a product during servicing or possession.  In case of such failure, client will be contacted immediately.  Scott’s Computer Emporium assumes no responsibility to loss of data during servicing or possession.  The client accepts all responsibility for backing up personal data before servicing.
