My favorite Christmas gift came from my kids and it’s a Logitech Cooling Pad N120 for my laptop. When I opened it up I was amazed at how light it was and the perfect size for my 17” laptop. It’s a stylish black color with just the right angle on it to make typing on the laptop comfortable. This particular laptop cooling pad has a USB powered fan to help keep your laptop cool. It’s supposed to use very little battery power but I can’t put it to the test because my battery needs to be replaced.
Although many people use their laptops on their laps (hence the name) it’s not advisable to use it on your lap as it tends to block the cooling fans and will over heat your laptop. A cooling pad is a great idea to not only use on your lap but to help keep your laptop cool. For a cooling pad that is not only a good value but a good quality cooling pad, try the Logitech Cooling Pad N120.

E hoarding is the accumulation of electronic items or files and can take shape in many different ways. Often we receive email and hang on to those emails for extended periods of time in case they need to refer to them later. Some of us delete those emails but neglect to empty the deleted files folder. The Sent folder also accumulates emails and should be emptied occasionally.
Photos are another file that should not only be backed up, but should be purged occasionally. With digital cameras, we no longer choose the photos that we want to keep as we did with the film that was developed. Hundreds of photos, good and bad accumulate and run the risk of being lost forever. Rather then being selective with the photos, with digital cameras we are able to take hundreds of photos and then download them onto our computers for future use. It is always a good idea to back up those photos and to remove the photos that cannot be used. The best thing to do would be to make a photo slide show on a CD or DVD and then distribute them to friends or relatives. There are many products on the market to help you accomplish this easily.
Bookmarks are another form of E hoarding. Often we accumulate bookmarks and never visit that sight again. If you have older bookmarks, you should periodically check those sites because often those sites are no longer valid.
Word documents, music files, scanned documents, pdf files, downloaded program files that you no longer need, etc. the E hoarding list goes on. So ask yourself are you guilty of being an E Hoarder? If so, happy purging.

First, I would like to say that I base my business on honesty and integrity, something that most computer repair shops lack in. It came as no real shock to me when I opened up a letter from Microsoft informing me that I had a mystery shopper come to me some time in January of 2012. This person inquired about purchasing a custom built system and had asked if I provide genuine software with the packaging. At this point I must say that I will NEVER sell or install illegal/pirated software of any kind for anyone. The letter went on to say that it appears that I sell legal genuine copies of Microsoft software and it’s packaging.
So after I finished reading this letter, of which I will enclose, the one thought that came to mind is that one of my competitors must have put in a complaint against me. Microsoft does not normally investigate a business unless there has been a complaint or another business in the area had been investigated. So here I am an honest businessperson trying to run an honest business in a field that can and is very corrupt. All I can say is be very careful of who you allow to work on your computer. If you don’t you could end up with illegal software on your computer which will cause more headaches then it’s worth.
